Summer Events On The Great Ocean Road

Summer is a magical time on the Great Ocean Road. There are countless beaches to choose from, offering everything from swimming to surfing, and rockpooling to fishing. There’s also the Otway Ranges where you can take a cool hike in the shade. Not to mention famous sights such as the 12 Apostles, London Arch and Loch Ard Gorge, all of which look spectacular in the summer light.

But if you’re travelling down to the Great Ocean Road this summer, you may be interested to know that the region also plays host to a number of fabulous family, sport, music and food events.

Let’s Imagine, A Festival For Kids

When: 7-9 December 2019
Where:   Colac Botanic Gardens

A festival which aims to put fireworks into your kids’ imaginations, and nourish their individuality. More information is available at Let’s Imagine.

Moyneyana Festival

When: 24 December 2019 to 26 January 2020
Where: Railway Place, Port Fairy

This popular festival is now in its 72nd year and really does offer something for everyone! There’ll be Highland Dancing, live music, circus acts, a pipe band, magic, kids entertainment – and much more! More information can be found here.

Camperdown Car And Bike Show

When:  10-12 Jan 2020
Where: Camperdown, VIC

This looks set to be another great weekend! There’ll be live music at the Hampden Hotel, trade stalls, a Saturday night street cruise and a scenic Sunday day cruise.

The Tempest at Loch Ard Gorge

When:  18 & 19 Jan 2020
Where: Loch Ard Gorge

Prepare to be spellbound as you enjoy this fabulous show in such a spectacular and historic setting. More information here.

Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road  Race

When: 30 January – 2 February 2020
Where: Geelong –  Barwon Heads – Torquay

Port Fairy Jazz Festival

When: 7- 9 February 2020
Where: Various venues in Port Fairy, VIC

Apollo Bay Seafood Festival

When:  14-16 February 2020
Where: Apollo Bay Harbour

Otway Odyssey

When:  22 February 2020
Where: Forrest, VIC

One of Australia’s most respected mountain biking events. Caters for all riders, from the elite to beginners. You’ll love the atmosphere and the beautiful setting. Otway Odyssey Rapid Dascent.
